the toothbrush museum

is a museum for toothbrushes as objects and a bit about oral hygiene. The teeth are more important than many people think, not only to chew with or to show when we smile, but the incomparably improved dental health has also strongly contributed to our increased lifespan. Below we have ventured to look a little at tooth brushing.

good habits are formed early and last long

Mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, sister, brother and everyone else who will help, show the baby, the child how to brush their teeth and constantly remind... It's not that hard. Make it a habit to brush your teeth in the morning and before bed. There are loads of toothbrushes to choose from and the vast majority are good. Choose a soft one, size according to mouth and number of teeth, choose a toothpaste suitable for children and put a small drop of toothpaste on the brush. Teach the child to spit out the toothpaste (spitting can be fun), but if most of it is swallowed in the beginning, it won't do any harm.

Send us a picture of brushing your teeth to our Facebook page and it could enter the Hall of Fame, the "Young Heroes" section.

Before the first visit to the dentist, children may feel anxious. There are dental specialists to take care of children. Send us a photo from the visit to our Facebook page and it could enter the Hall of Fame, the "Courageous Heroes" section.

When it was time for new teeth, the child used to get a penny from the tooth fairy. today, children who are part of the Friends of the Toothbrush Museum receive a small gift from us after the first lost tooth, and if we get a picture of the child with a gap after the lost tooth, we hang it in the Hall of Fame, the section for "Big Heroes".

“The Swedish recommendation”

You shall put two cm of toothpaste on your toothbrush and brush for two minutes twice (two times) a day, but that is in all probability a pedagogical whim. You will find completely different recommendations if you search for rules from other countries.

Our suggestion is: choose a toothpaste with fluoride (fluoride). The fluoride has a preventive effect and to some extent can also heal minor injuries. Choose children's toothpaste for children and regular toothpaste for adults. Put a drop on the child's brush and what you find comfortable on your own and brush until you have cleaned the teeth. Feel free to use dental floss and/or an interdental brush. Do this morning and night.

If you are unsure of the result, do the dental floss test. There are also tablets that stain residual plaque. Then you see what you missed. It is also wise to do a Granny Smith test from time to time. If you want to know what the samples with dental floss and Granny Smith are, contact us.
